THE KOVENANT To Enter Studio This Winter

September 6, 2004

Norway's THE KOVENANT will enter the studio this winter to begin recording the follow-up to last year's "S.E.T.I." (Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence),tentatively due mid-2005 through Nuclear Blast Records.

"We are now set with all guns blazing towards completing the most exciting, surprising, energetic and accomplished KOVENANT record so far," the band write on their web site. "Again, this will be a drastic detour from our ever so unpredictable path, and our ideas are set to fill you with wonder and amazement. Old fans, as well as more recently acquired listeners will certainly find this to be a very characteristic KOVENANT record, and we are most pleased to say that with our emerging creation, we will reclaim our position as a force of innovation and aspiration, not just for ourselves, but for the entire scene."

The forthcoming CD, tentatively titled "The Dreaming Spires", will reportedly be THE KOVENANT's last for Nuclear Blast. One new songtitle has thus far been revealed: "Radiation King". Also planned for release is a DVD containing footage spanning the band's entire career.

As previously reported, THE KOVENANT recently added two new members to the group's lineup: RAM-ZET drummer Küth and APOPTYGMA BERZERK keyboardist Geir Bratland.
